Straight ahead jazz in quartet, trio, duo or big band
What It's About
Straight ahead jazz for dinner or dancing with the finest musicians available. I have many projects I work with including duo arrangements, small jazz combos and big bands. I feel very strongly that two musical projects are neccessary: one tailored toward the nightclub where you can be more edgy and one tailored toward paying clients and worked around their needs (dinner music, dancing music, etc). I work with several projects - one is in San Francisco and the other San Diego. This enables me to play both northern and southern California very economically.
Dinner Events
Dinner music is typically toned down so the entertainment is not distracting to guests but still provides an ambiance of class to the event. In larger spaces, sometimes an area is set aside for guests to congregate with the musicians for those who fell like enjoying the music and guests come and go from that area as they wish. Configurations are typically guitar and voice or piano and voice, or even voice plus bass and piano or guitar which ads a nice full band sound without the extra cost and distraction of a full band with drums. Dancing Events
We have produced many shows tailored toward dancers and know how to keep a set moving and how to work with dancers to produce sets that are fun to dance to. Although I love to have a big band behind me, I have a smaller group consisting of drums, bass, piano, and two horns that gets a big band sound without the big band price. We can even bring the swing dancers and/or dance instructors to ad something to a club event or a private party. Enquire with your interest and budget and we will do our best to bring you in at or under budget with some creative ideas for small and large budgets alike. We cater to private clients and can modify our set for your event.
